Love Child – September 3rd 2018

I know we’ve all been witnesses to the trending topic of self-love and self-care, it’s everywhere. You can see it in posts, in ads, in rituals, in affirmations, etc. But what does self-care really mean? What does it entail? The answer can be different for everyone.

I feel these two cards together ask each one of us to retreat, go within ourselves to answer that question. For some of you, self care might be taking some time for yourself and doing something that brings you joy, for others it can be a beauty routine, maybe even a non-physical habit.

What I do strongly feel is that self-care (whatever it is to you) comes from infinitely and unconditionally loving yourself. The more you love yourself, the more you’ll want to take care of yourself.

Loving yourself enough as to LOVE your body, caring for and nurturing it. It is the vessel that allows you to exist and move in this plane.

Loving yourself enough as to set healthy boundaries in your relationships with others. Giving too much of yourself will create an imbalance that brings other repercussions. Setting healthy and mindful boundaries is an act of love.

Loving yourself enough as to see your own bullshit and work through it to better yourself. You can’t live in La La Land forever, pretending it’s always rainbows and unicorns. Acknowledging your entire self and taking responsibility for your life is empowering.

Loving yourself enough as to consciously make decisions that improve your life, know when to say no, when to say yes. Listen to your higher self in order to discern what really brings improvement and growth into your life.

Love yourself unconditionally, as you are. You exist as you are for a reason, you have a divine purpose in this Universe and that is enough reason to love.

What are some of your favorite self-care/love practices? I’d love to hear them.

Have a great Monday Moon children!
